Well, we've been lax about updating the blog, even with all the excitement of Michael finally coming home. This is simply because we have been exhausted and busy with the little guy! We now are having help 6 nights a week, starting last night at 10pm. Both Nathali and I spent much of the day yesterday dreaming of 10pm!
Michael is usually awake, and likes to be held. He'll fall asleep when you are holding him, but wakes up as soon as you put him into his crib. While he certainly didn't get held all the time in the NICU, we are sort of feeling like he deserves to be spoiled after all he's been through. So, he gets what he wants - for now!

He started a new thing, he found his fingers and likes sucking on them (See the picture with our Neighbor Maria holding him). He is so much like a 'real' baby now!!
Last night, Dorothy, Michael's new nurse (shown above), was here and Nathali and I got some much needed sleep. And, the report from last night was that Michael was up pretty much all night, only going to sleep for a bit at 7am. Over the 24 hours yesterday, he was able to consume 450cc of the 480-500cc that Dr. Z said he needs to eat. So, we continue to have a deficit, but its much better than the first day when Michael only ate 340cc. So far today, more of the same, with Michael going through another cycle of inconsistent eating, so we will keep pushing to get him up to the goal so he can grow!

Shiva did really good with Michael. She was very curious and kept sniffing him (and even licking him!). Every time he made his squeaky noise, she came to check it out. Unfortunately because Shiva sheds so much hair, we decided to send her to Robert's parents for a little while. She loves it there, but we already miss her!!!
