October 29, 2007 - no more O2 during the day!!!

Get used to seeing Michael without a nasal cannula, because he graduated today!!! We saw the pulmonologist today. WOOHOO!!! As long as his saturations stay in the 90's, he doesn't need O2 during the day anymore, only when he is sleeping. We need to check his saturations more frequently during the day, but this is MAJOR progress!! Michael was smiling when he left the doctor's office. I guess he understood what was going on, ha ha!! Later on at home, he was looking for the cannula with his hand (since he was pulling it into his mouth every five minutes) and was confused it wasn't there anymore :)
It is such a relief to pick him up without any wires pulling on him. He is like a REAL baby now!! We are sooooo happy!!!!!! He is so handsome without anything on his face :)

His lungs sounded clear. He still has some nasal congestion and wheezing at night, but not too bad. He was 13 pound 1 ounce at the doctors office and that means he is in the 10-25 percentile of the growth chart!!! Yesterday he was 20 weeks (adjusted).
Most of the food he is getting now is Neosure formula and we found out that it is for sale at CVS, so we went to 4 different stores to buy up all the Neosure :)

Some other things that he is enjoying is sitting up. He loves to sit. He has a bebe pod with a toy on a tray and he is reaching for the toy!! That is great progress!! And we borrowed the 'signing time' DVD's from the library and we put him in the swing in front of the TV and he LOVES it!! He squeals and kicks!! He LOVES the swing. It has a mirror over his head and he can't get enough of looking at it and the little animals turning around. I am so happy with that swing!!!

Robert and I found another scar in his neck this weekend. It is kind of hidden since he has so many rolls in his neck. We think it is from another PICC line from his NICU time.
