After 18 months of sharing Michael’s blog with everyone, we have decided to make the blog Private as of August 1, 2008. We hope that Michael’s story has been helpful to other parents with (micro)preemies. However, now that he is growing up, things become more personal and less focused on his rocky start in the NICU.

Michael Jeffrey Pincus was born on February 18, 2007. He was born at 24 weeks at 1 pound, 4 ounces, 11 inches. He spent 149 days in the NICU. He was intubated for 3 months, therefore he has severe BPD (Broncho Pulmonary Dysplasia) and he suffered severe hearing loss in both ears. On September 21, 2007 he received his first set of hearing aids. Other than that he is doing really really well for a 24-weeker!! Michael has been a fighter from the day he was born and this is his journal...

I would love to continue to reading your blog. It is inspiring to me even though I did not have a micropreemie. My kids were both preemies and Sammy has had lots of issues. Thank you for encouraging all of us mom's out there with your upbeat attitude and encouragement when things are rough.
