Michael is doing much better. Thursday morning he was still a little groggy and not himself, but now he only has a little bit of a runny nose left of his cold. In the meantime he passed the cold on to his daddy.

Wednesday night, our friend Gretel came to visit us from North Carolina. Robert knows her from college and they have been good friends ever since. We have visited her in North Carolina a few times. She has two adorable children (Hunter, 4 and Aaron, 2) and she has not had a vacation for 4 years. So she decided to come and visit us while her husband, Greg, took care of the kids. Since our friend Jeff also went to college with them, he decided to come down from Jacksonville as well. He had not seen Gretel for 8 years!!

Thursday, Gretel and Jeff spent the day on South Beach. That night we went out to dinner. Jeff had to leave the next morning because he works weekends.

Friday, Gretel, Mikey and I went to Sunrise and had lunch with Robert. After that we spent the afternoon at Ikea. Gretel had never been to an Ikea. She was like a kid in a candy store. So much fun!!! We found great things and had such a wonderful afternoon!!

Michael had so much fun with Gretel!! She has a very similar house to ours and she taught both her sons how to climb the stairs, so she decided to do the same with Michael. She created a monster!!!! He loves it so much, he does everything in his power to get to the stairs. He 'broke out' of his playroom jail, twice already and we were just in time to get him off the stairs.

When he climbs the stairs, he is so excited he forgets to breathe!! And he squeals. It's so cute (as long as we can keep an eye on him. We will have to put up a gate now on the bottom of the stairs as well). Gretel taught him to turn around and scoot down on his butt. It's amazing to me how fast he caught on to this.

Saturday afternoon we spent at the Flea Market and we had a wonderful lunch at Houston's. After that we went to see Rae and Jules. They have known Gretel a long time. They enjoyed spending time with her. We had dinner with them and that was the end of a very short, but fun few days with Gretel!!!

Today, Sunday, my new neighbor Michelle called me and invited me to go shopping with her. We had so much fun. Robert took care of Michael all afternoon. He is such a great daddy!!! Michael really likes Michelle. I think you can tell from the picture :)

Michelle's husband, Dirk, is Dutch. Isn't that funny that of all the places in Coral Springs, we end up living next to another Dutchie? Ha ha!!!
