Yesterday, Michael saw the cardiologist for a follow-up visit (it was a different doctor than the cardiologist who saw him during his NICU stay). Michael had an EKG and Echo done. The doctor read through his NICU-discharge papers and the first thing he said was: 'this is a miracle baby'. Every doctor that reads his discharge report says the same thing. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces yesterday and he was 21.5 inches (54.5 cm)!! His heart looked really good. The PDA (hole in the heart) is closed and he needs to go back for another follow up on 4 months from now. The doctor could not say enough how impressed he was with Michael. I joked that it was because of the breast milk and he was surprised to hear that I am (still) breastfeeding. He told me that that was definitely something to be proud of. Nice to hear, that's for sure!!!
Today, Claudia cared for Michael while I brought Robert to the airport. He will be out of town for a few days for a business trip. So great to be able to leave the house :). Tonight we went for a nice walk and Michael LOVED it!!!!
